When I saw this set I was instantly drawn to the little bear and the owl with the fireflies, they were just too cute to resist! I used watercolour to paint my scene and my characters.

Then we have the card I created using the adorable “Good Times” set which I shared here on my blog:

Craftin Desert Divas July Sneak Peek “Good Times”!

Hey there lovelies! ❤

Today I have something exciting to share with you, if you’ve been following the July sneak peek post’s over on the Craftin Desert Divas’ Blog you’ve already seen some incredibly cute creations from the rest of the team, and today I finally get to share with you one of my own using the brand new set “Good Times”!

CDD Good Times Sneak Peak Blog July 18

For this card I stamped my images from what would be in the foreground first (so the mouse, fox and the picnic) on watercolour paper using Ranger Archival Jet Black ink, I then stamped the images again on some post it notes and fussy cut them out to create masks. Once I laid the masks over the images, I proceeded to stamp the tree with the badger where I wanted it before carefully removing the masks. I used watercolour paints to paint my characters, the picnic and the tree. I used salty ocean and mowed lawn distress inks to watercolour my sky and my grass. I then cut down a panel of white card stock, die cut my window using the circle from the “Shake It Up Dies” and adhered over my scene using foam tape. I stamped my sentiment in Versafine Onyx Black ink, coated with clear embossing powder and heat set it before cutting in to a thin sentiment banner and adhering it to the upper left portion of my panel. To finish I adhered my scene to my card base using double sided tape.

There we have it! The sneak peeks are officially wrapping up, what are your thoughts?! I had so much fun playing with this set and also the Brighter Days set (I have posted photos of my projects using those on my Instagram and Facebook Page if you would like to check those out), and I’m sure you will too if you decide to purchase! This month’s entire release is so adorable, be sure to head over to the other Design Team members’ blogs to check out some more inspiration using all the wonderful products that are releasing later today (3pm EST)!

Quick and Easy Birthday Card Using Craftin Desert Divas Products!

Hello lovelies!

It’s been a while since I’ve posted any of my makes on here, I’ve been under the weather and life has been pretty hectic lately! However I’m now back and ready to craft away! Today I’m sharing with you a simple card, where just by changing up a few details each time you can create a quick and easy stash of birthday cards while still keeping them all unique in their own way! ❤

1c1c-2

I started by die cutting my panel using the largest of the Crazy Stitched Frame Dies and running it through my Big Shot machine with some heavyweight white card stock. I often secure my dies to my card using some washi tape to ensure it doesn’t move around!

1c-3

I then die cut the banner die from the Party Dies set from white card stock and some patterned paper. With this die in particular it cuts the banner frame and the insert pieces all at once! So a quick and easy way to change things up from card to card, is to use what you have left over from running this die through and instead of having the white card as the frame of the banner, have the patterned paper!

1c-4

I then took my panel and splattered it with Spiced Marmalade and Mustard Seed distress inks to give that fun confetti look! To do this I put down some ink on a stamp block, spray it with a little water and splatter it off the edge on to my panel using a paint brush. Splattering gives such a fun effect, and you can change up the colours to suit the recipient you’re creating for, or create a bunch of different coloured ones quickly in advance so you’ll have them handy!

1c-5

I decided to adhere my banner on to my panel next, so I would have a good idea where I wanted my sentiment to go. I started by adhering my white frame to my panel, once the Nuvo adhesive was dry I then proceeded to adhere all the little individual pieces in their allocated slots! You could easily do more than one banner per card, as it really is a speedy process!

1c-6

As I was stamping directly on to my panel I decided to use my stamping platform, so I could be sure I get a crisp and clear impression for my sentiment! I like to adhere my panel down with washi tape if I’m doing this, just to be sure it doesn’t move around!

1c-7

I stamped “Sending birthday wishes” from the Wishful Thoughts set in Versafine Onyx Black ink, backed my entire panel with foam tape and mounted on to my card base!

Watermarked CDD BDAY STASH CC 02.07.18

There we go! A quick and simple birthday card, which can easily be changed up to suit different occasions/recipients! Thank you for reading lovelies! If you’ve come over from the Craftin Desert Divas blog, hello! I’m thrilled to be a new part of the CDD Design Team and I’m looking forward to creating content for you all over the next few months! ❤

Simple Elegant Cards Using Spellbinders Shapeabilities Dies From The “Flower Garden” Collection!

Hey lovelies! ❤ I’m back with a couple more cards using the Spellbinders Shapeabilities dies, this time from the Flower Garden collection by Sharyn Sowell! I tried to keep these cards similar while changing things up just a little, I’ve been on a white and gold kick lately and these dies fit that style perfectly!

~Tools and products used will be listed at the end of this blog post!~

34258697_2123865487641276_3355361999348301824_n

“Botanical Butterfly”

34306531_2123866050974553_2293815382797975552_n.jpg

34416393_2123866110974547_787100216380620800_n

I created my A2 card base and cut my panel slightly smaller from white heavyweight card stock. I prepped my panel with my EK Success powder tool so my embossing powder would only stick to where I wanted it to. I took a thin embossing folder I got from a magazine a little while ago and coated the inside with Tsukineko Versamark ink (on the side with no ridges! This is so the embossed part would remain mostly white with only a little bit of gold looking slightly distressed on it!). I placed it towards the bottom of my panel and ran it through my die cutting machine before coating it in Papermania gold embossing powder and setting it with my heat tool. Once the embossing had cooled I took some gold peel offs from Love From Lizi and adhered them at the top and bottom of the gold embossed strip to neaten up the edges and give it an extra little shine. I then covered the embossed strip and the bottom of the panel in post it tape to protect it while I splattered some gold and white gold watercolour paint at the top of the panel.

Once the splatter was dry I removed the post it tape and prepped the white space at the bottom of the card with my powder tool once again. I stamped my sentiment in Tsukineko Versafine onyx black ink in the bottom right corner of my panel, covered it in Papermania clear embossing powder and set with my heat tool.

I grabbed some pretty floral pearlescent patterned paper from my stash and used the Botanical  Butterfly etched dies to cut out the body and wings using my die cutting machine (I ran the wings through twice so I could double them up as I knew I wanted some dimension here). Once all my pieces were ready, I took some strong double sided score tape and adhered the bottom wing, body and antenna with it over the left side of the embossed strip. I put some of the same double sided score tape on the top wing (where the wing joins to the butterfly) and used some mini foam squares to pop up the end of the wing to give some dimension. To finish I backed the entire panel in double sided foam tape and adhered to my card base.

“Botanical Dragonfly”

34342585_2123865870974571_6366252026531151872_n.jpg

34189155_2123865964307895_9041766298295468032_n.jpg

Once again I went with an A2 card base with a slightly smaller panel from heavyweight white card stock. This time I protected a strip of my panel along the bottom first and splattered again with gold and white gold metallic watercolour paint. I removed the post it tape once the splatter was dry and went with the gold peel offs on their own, choosing two different widths to work with this time. I placed a two of the medium sizes and placed a thinner one in the middle, to give that same sense of separation I have on the first card.

I used the same floral paper as I did with the butterfly, to cut out the botanical dragonfly using my die cutting machine. Again, I ran the wings through twice only this time I turned my paper over so I could create the wings for both sides of the dragonfly. I adhered the two lower wings to my panel using my double sided tape as I wanted them to be flat, for the two top wings I adhered the part that would be behind the dragonfly’s body with score tape and popped up the ends with mini foam squares. I adhered the dragonfly’s body down the middle of my wings, using score tape directly on top of the wings and a mini foam square to support the back of the dragonfly’s head.

I took some black card stock and prepped it with my heat tool, I stamped my sentiment from Altenew’s Carousel stamp set in Tsukineko Versamark ink, coated it in Altenew pure white embossing powder and set it with my heat tool. I cut the sentiment in to a thin strip using my paper trimmer and adhered it across my dragonfly using the double sided score tape. I then backed the entire panel in double sided foam tape and adhered to my card base to finish up!

Thanks for reading lovelies! I had a lot of fun playing with these dies, I want to say a special thanks to Spellbinders for reaching out to me once again and giving me this wonderful opportunity! The dies themselves are absolutely beautiful and great for making beautiful cards year round, no matter the occasion! The detail in these dies specifically had me in awe! Which of the two dies is your favourite?

Sprinkled With Love Card Using Some Odd Girl “Sweet & Salty”!

Hey lovelies! ❤ I’m back with another card using the Sweet & Salty stamp set from Some Odd Girl, I personally love this stamp set as the images are such a great size for a focal image! The weather has been heating up more and more lately as summer creeps in, what more perfect time for ice cream?!

~Tools and products used will be listed at the end of this blog post!~

33865948_2120361884658303_7347164441735069696_n.jpg

I created my card base using heavyweight white card stock, and cut a panel of patterned paper from the Pink and Main “Be Brave” 6×6 paper pack to be slightly smaller than my card base. I chose the colourful triangle paper because it reminded me of bunting used for summer parties, how appropriate! I cut some strips from white card stock, I prepped one of the strips with my EK Success Powder tool so the embossing powder would only stick to the area I stamped. I stamped my sentiment “Sprinkled With Love” in Versafine onyx black ink, coated it in Papermania clear embossing powder and set with my heat tool. I then adhered the strips across the patterned paper using double sided foam tape, being careful to line them up with the edges of the patterned paper.

I stamped my ice cream cone images using Ranger Archival jet black ink as I planned to watercolour them this time around. My favourite flavour of ice cream is mint, so I felt I had to put that front and centre! I decided to go with chocolate and vanilla for the other two so they weren’t all competing too much on the card. Once they were dry I fussy cut them out by hand and adhered them together first using my regular tape runner, then adhered them beside my sentiment on my card!

33943289_2120361944658297_1831684469480751104_n.jpg

Thank you for reading lovelies! ❤ This was such a quick card to make, probably one of my quickest! I love how simple yet colourful it is at the same time, and I think it’s perfect to send to a loved one in summer! What’s your favourite flavour of ice cream?!

In Omnia Paratus Card Using Ink Road Stamps “Stars Hollow”!

Hey lovelies! ❤

Today I want to share with you the second card I’ve made with this gorgeous stamp set from Ink Road Stamps! Anybody who watches Gilmore Girls will know of the Life and Death Brigade and the latin term ‘In Omnia Paratus’ which means ‘ready for anything’! Some of my favourite moments in the show happened with Rory and the Life and Death Brigade, although I’m still team Jess! With that being said, I couldn’t NOT make this card!

~Tools and products used will be listed at the end of this blog post!~

33377003_2113442525350239_8902136490595713024_n.jpg

I made my tall card base and cut a panel slightly smaller from white card stock, I wanted it to represent the jump made by Rory and Logan with the rest of the group so I felt it was most appropriate! I cut a cloud shape stencil from white card stock again, and began inking my panel from the top with my Ranger/Tim Holtz Salty Ocean Distress Ink. I kept blending the colour all the way down to the bottom of my panel, once finished I distressed it with my Distress Spray bottle.

For the little umbrellas I stamped them with Tsukineko Memento tuxedo black ink on white card stock, then coloured them in rainbow colours using my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. I took a small circle die and cut them out using my Big Shot machine.

For my sentiments I treated some black card stock with my EK Success powder tool, so the embossing powder wouldn’t stick to anywhere else apart from where I stamped. I stamped both sentiments in Tsukineko Versamark ink, covered them in Altenew pure white embossing powder and set them with my heat tool before cutting them in to thin strips using my paper trimmer. I used my scissors to create a little fish tail banner for the “you jump, I jump” sentiment.

For assembly I began by cutting down some black matte paper to create a border around my panel on the card, adhering it to my card base with my regular tape runner. I then wrapped some blue and white twine around the left side of my panel, adhering it to the back with some washi tape. I backed the umbrella circles and sentiments with double sided foam tape, adhered the umbrellas over the twine and put the sentiments in place where I had planned. I finished by backing the entire panel in foam tape and adhering to my card base.

Sarcastic Coffee Card Using Ink Road Stamps “Stars Hollow”

Hey lovelies! ❤

By now I probably don’t need to explain my love for coffee, or Gilmore Girls for that matter! I made this card yesterday after learning about the Coffee Lover’s blog hop that started on Friday! So of course, being a Lorelai Gilmore on the coffee addiction scale I just HAD to use the Stars Hollow Set from Ink Road Stamps again!

~Tools and products used will be listed at the end of this blog post!~

33540697_2115506188477206_3129293552454991872_n.jpg

I began by treating a piece of white card stock with my EK success powder tool as I knew I was going to emboss my images for this card. I stamped the to go coffee cups in a random fashion in Tsukineko Versafine onyx black ink, coated in clear embossing powder and set them with my heat tool. I used a circle die to cut out the area I wanted with my Sizzix Big Shot machine. I’d never tried watercolouring on my white card stock before, but I didn’t want the texture which my watercolour paper has for this piece. I found that as long as I don’t use too much water, it holds up just fine! I took my Salty Ocean distress ink, spread some on my glass craft mat and sprayed with some water, picking up the colour with a paintbrush I painted the areas around the coffee cups with the ink. I moved on to using some brown, orange and green watercolour paints for the coffee cups themselves and set the circle aside to dry.

I created my card base and cut some matte black paper slightly smaller then adhered it with my regular tape runner. I created a panel with some foiled card stock from DCWV. I prepped some black card stock with my powder tool and chose my sentiments, I chose “coffee please, people are particularly stupid today, I cannot talk to any more of them”, I love a good sassy sentiment! This is an iconic Michelle moment in Gilmore Girls and I can’t read that phrase without reading it in his voice! I stamped my sentiments in Tsukineko Versamark ink and heat embossed it in Altenew Pure White embossing powder, cutting them in to thin strips.

By this time the circle panel was dry, so I took a die from the Avery Elle tag dies and partially die cut it on either side of the circle. I backed the circle with double sided foam tape as I wanted it to add a little extra dimension to the card. I used some blue and white twine and threaded it through the holes on either side of the circle. Adhering the circle to the foiled card stock panel, I wrapped the twine behind the foiled panel and adhered it to the back with some washi tape. I glued my sentiments flat to the card using my regular tape runner, backed the entire panel in foam tape and adhered to my card base.

Coffee Friendship Card Using Ink Road Stamps “Stars Hollow”!

Hello lovelies! ❤

Yup you read that right, I’m back with yet ANOTHER coffee card! When will I bore of making caffeine related cards? Never! Especially when it ties in to my all time favourite show, Gilmore Girls!

~Tools and products used will be listed at the end of this blog post!~

33340909_2112849122076246_4776675868548268032_n.jpg

I created my card base from white card stock, followed by cutting some grey card stock to fit the base leaving a slight white border at either side. I used an embossing folder I got free in a magazine to create the textured pattern on the grey card, but before running it through I covered the inside of the embossing folder with Versamark ink (on the smoother panel with no ridges) so the embossed areas would be lighter than the areas without embossing. I feel like this creates a subtle contrast but it definitely adds something extra!

I cut a white strip to fit across the width of the grey panel and used my EK Success powder tool to treat the card so my embossing powder would only stick to the areas I stamped. I took the small solid coffee cup stamp from the Stars Hollow set and stamped with Versamark ink, coated it in Papermania Gold embossing powder and set it with my heat tool. I repeated this all along the white strip.

For the sentiment I treated some white card stock again with my powder tool, stamped my sentiment “Coffee please, in a VAT” (because who doesn’t need that right?!) in Versafine Onyx Black ink, covered with Papermania clear embossing powder and set it with my heat tool. I took a small circle die and cut it out using my Big Shot machine.

Here is where I began the assembly of my card, I backed the grey panel with foam tape and adhered it to my card base. I used my regular tape runner to adhere the strip with the coffee cups to the grey panel, and foam tape once again to pop up the circular sentiment in the centre of the strip. I chose some copper and gold sequins and adhered them to my card using Ranger Multi Medium Matte adhesive for a little extra shine!

I Miss You Friendship Card Using Distress Inks!

Hello lovelies! ❤

Sharing another quick and easy card with you today, perfect to send to those you may not see every day!

~Tools and products used will be listed at the end of this blog post!~

32947045_2108496255844866_727634259568754688_n

I cut a panel from white card stock and picked which distress ink colours I wanted to work with (colours used & links will be listed at the end of this post!). The sun was shining so it only seemed right to go for some red, yellow and pink for that summery feel! I placed the inks directly on to my glass craft mat and sprayed with some water, then smooshed my panel on the surface to pick up the colour remembering to dry between each layer for a textured feel. When I was happy with how  it looked I splattered it with some gold metallic watercolour paint from my Gansai Tambi “Starry Colors” palette and set aside to dry.

I created my card base and top panel using white card stock and rounded the corners with a corner punch. I then cut some black matte paper larger than my top panel and rounded the corners for a cohesive look and adhered to my card base. To finish my top panel I die cut the stitched heart window with Lawn Fawn’s Outside In Stitched Heart stackable dies.

For my sentiment I decided to go with the “I Miss You” stamp from Simon Says Stamp “Seeing Stars”. I treated some black card stock with my EK Success powder tool, stamped my sentiment in Versamark ink and heat embossed it with Altenew Pure White embossing powder. I cut it down in to a thin sentiment strip and adhered it across the back of my stitched heart using my regular tape runner.

To finish the card I backed the stitched heart panel with foam tape and adhered it to the ink smooshed panel, then adhered it to my card base using my regular tape runner.
