Simple Watercolour Card Using Concord & 9th’s “Monster Love” Stamp Set!

Hey lovelies!
We’ve shifted from Christmas cards to Valentine’s Day cards in the craft world, so today I thought I’d share with you this simple card using Concord & 9th’s “Monster Love” stamp set! As soon as these cuties were released I knew I had to have them!
4
I stamped my monster and his tummy first using Archival Jet Black ink on some watercolour paper. I masked the monster while I stamped the balloon and string, I used the “love you” sentiment in the balloon this time to fit with the theme.
1.jpg
I used Altenew’s watercolour palette to colour my monster and background. I also dotted some of the paint around the background while it was still damp to add the confetti look to my panel. I finished up by adding some white highlights using a white gel pen before using the Mama Elephant “Basic Rectangles” Creative Cuts to cut out my panel.
2.jpg3
I cut a sentiment strip and prepped it using my powder tool applicator. I stamped my sentiment using Versafine Onyx Black ink, coated it in clear embossing powder and set it with my heat tool. I cut another panel using the largest of the “Basic Rectangles” Creative Cuts from Mama Elephant again to frame my panel, adhered my watercolour panel to it and used 3M Scotch Double Sided Foam Tape to attach my sentiment to my panel. I adhered my panel to my card base and decided to leave it there to keep it simple!

Friendship Card Using Mama Elephant’s “Heart In Bloom” Stamp Set! (With Matching Tags!)

Hello lovelies, Happy New Year!
I hope you’ve all had a fantastic time over the holidays and you’re settling in to 2019 quite nicely, today I wanted to share a friendship card and some matching tags I’ve made using the Mama Elephant “Heart In Bloom” stamp set! How beautiful is this floral stamp? I’m positively in love with it!
1.jpg2.jpg3.jpg
I started by stamping out the large floral heart with the banner in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colouring it with my alcohol markers, I’m so used to colouring floral stamps with my watercolour paints it was refreshing to have a change! Once I had finished colouring I added some highlights and dotted details with a white gel pen and stamped my sentiment in the banner using Versafine Onyx Black ink. I fussy cut the heart out and moved on to my background.
4.jpg5.jpg6.jpg
I cut a panel using the Altenew “Cube Cover” die from white card stock and splattered it with pink metallic watercolour paint. I knew I wanted the colour within the negative space to be neutral as I wanted the floral heart to really pop, so I took Iced Spruce Distress Oxide Ink and smooshed it on my glass craft mat before spraying it with water. I took another panel of white card stock and placed it on the ink on my craft mat repeatedly, drying between layers until I was happy with the outcome. I cut it down to the same size as my die cut panel and adhered them together.
7.jpg
I popped my floral heart up on my panel using 3M Scotch Double Sided Foam Tape and adhered it to my card base. I finished my card off with some Bottle Green Nuvo Crystal Drops before leaving it in a safe place for them to dry for 24 hours.
P12 ME Heart In Bloom
For my matching tags I just took some blank tags I had leftover from last Christmas and stamped each of them with the single flower from the set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I coloured them once again using my alcohol markers and used a white gel pen for the highlights. I stamped the flower on some masking paper and cut it out to cover the flower while I splattered each of the tags with Iced Spruce Distress Oxide Ink and pink metallic watercolour paint. I waited for them to dry before stamping my sentiment down the side using Versafine Onyx Black ink and attached a ribbon to the top of each of them. I finished them off with the Bottle Green Nuvo Crystal drops for that extra touch!

Friendship Card Using Mama Elephant “Little Dog Agenda” Stamp Set!

Hey lovelies!
Today I’m sharing with you a card I made using the Mama Elephant “Little Dog Agenda” stamp set! I love the Little Agenda sets as I feel they’re so versatile!
1
I stamped the images using Memento Tuxedo Black ink, coloured them with alcohol markers and used a white gel pen to add highlights. I wasn’t sure which of the images I wanted to use just yet, so I fussy cut a bunch of them out so I could just grab the ones I wanted when it came to assembling my card! The others can be saved for future projects.
2
I cut a panel from white card stock using the Mama Elephant “Basic Rectangles” Creative Cuts and cut a window using the oval from Lawn Fawn’s “Shadow Box Card” dies.
3
I cut some trees from the “Shadow Box Card” dies too and coloured them using my alcohol markers.
45.jpg
I blended some “Salty Ocean” Distress Ink on to a square of white card stock larger than my window and distressed it slightly using my distress sprayer. I assembled my scene in the window first then adhered my images on top. To finish my panel I stamped my sentiment from Neat and Tangled’s “Beavers Eh” set using Versafine Onyx Black ink. I double wrapped some blue and white twine around my panel and adhered it at the back.
6.jpg
I cut a background panel from white card stock using Altenew’s “Cube Cover” die, created my card base and adhered them together using double sided tape. I popped my smaller panel up on my base using 3M Double Sided Foam Tape to finish.

Hey there Pumpkin! Cute Halloween Card using Newton’s Nook “Boo-tiful Night” set!

Hey lovelies!
Halloween is fast approaching and it’s my absolute favourite! I’ve already been stamping out everything Halloween in my stash ready to colour for more cards! I had to break open this Newton’s Nook Boo-tiful Night set first though, the adorable cats and pumpkins were calling to me!
40487965_729713747368455_4835227697405755392_n.jpg40421306_516119335503500_4227047250116739072_n.jpg
When I get a new stamp set I like to stamp all of the images out using Memento Tuxedo Black ink to colour up ready for when I need them. I’m planning to make and send out a lot of Halloween cards this year so I know every one of these adorable images will go to use! I used my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers to colour these cute kitties, a pink coloured pencil to add their rosy cheeks and my white gelly roll pen to add highlights. I fussy cut them all out before moving on to my background.
40513323_309805693117735_5816478495903055872_n.jpg
I used the Newton’s Nook “Flying Bats” stencil and Carved Pumpkin Distress Oxide ink to blend the bats on to some white card stock, after removing the stencil I blended the ink darker over the edges of my panel and gently blended it in to the middle for the lighter area. I splattered some black watercolour paint on my panel and allowed it to dry, I just love how black and orange look together so I couldn’t resist!
40519023_332012790907778_3260364555485708288_n
I cut my grass using Craftin Desert Divas’ “Outdoor Landscape” dies, I blended some Mowed Lawn Distress ink along with some Fossilized Amber near the top to give the effect that the top of the grass is glowing from the orange light. I prepped the grass with my powder tool applicator, stamped my sentiment using Versamark ink, coated it in Altenew “Pure White” embossing powder and set with my heat tool. I adhered my grass panel to my background and popped the adorable little cat and pumpkins up with some foam tape. I created a card base from heavyweight white card stock, cut down some black paper to frame my panel and adhered everything to the card base. I finished up by adding some Ebony Black Nuvo drops to draw attention to my sentiment then set my card to dry in a safe place for 24 hours.

Simple Elegant Cards Using Spellbinders Shapeabilities Dies From The “Flower Garden” Collection!

Hey lovelies! ❤ I’m back with a couple more cards using the Spellbinders Shapeabilities dies, this time from the Flower Garden collection by Sharyn Sowell! I tried to keep these cards similar while changing things up just a little, I’ve been on a white and gold kick lately and these dies fit that style perfectly!

~Tools and products used will be listed at the end of this blog post!~

“Botanical Butterfly”

34306531_2123866050974553_2293815382797975552_n.jpg

34416393_2123866110974547_787100216380620800_n

I created my A2 card base and cut my panel slightly smaller from white heavyweight card stock. I prepped my panel with my EK Success powder tool so my embossing powder would only stick to where I wanted it to. I took a thin embossing folder I got from a magazine a little while ago and coated the inside with Tsukineko Versamark ink (on the side with no ridges! This is so the embossed part would remain mostly white with only a little bit of gold looking slightly distressed on it!). I placed it towards the bottom of my panel and ran it through my die cutting machine before coating it in Papermania gold embossing powder and setting it with my heat tool. Once the embossing had cooled I took some gold peel offs from Love From Lizi and adhered them at the top and bottom of the gold embossed strip to neaten up the edges and give it an extra little shine. I then covered the embossed strip and the bottom of the panel in post it tape to protect it while I splattered some gold and white gold watercolour paint at the top of the panel.

Once the splatter was dry I removed the post it tape and prepped the white space at the bottom of the card with my powder tool once again. I stamped my sentiment in Tsukineko Versafine onyx black ink in the bottom right corner of my panel, covered it in Papermania clear embossing powder and set with my heat tool.

I grabbed some pretty floral pearlescent patterned paper from my stash and used the Botanical  Butterfly etched dies to cut out the body and wings using my die cutting machine (I ran the wings through twice so I could double them up as I knew I wanted some dimension here). Once all my pieces were ready, I took some strong double sided score tape and adhered the bottom wing, body and antenna with it over the left side of the embossed strip. I put some of the same double sided score tape on the top wing (where the wing joins to the butterfly) and used some mini foam squares to pop up the end of the wing to give some dimension. To finish I backed the entire panel in double sided foam tape and adhered to my card base.

“Botanical Dragonfly”

34342585_2123865870974571_6366252026531151872_n.jpg

34189155_2123865964307895_9041766298295468032_n.jpg

Once again I went with an A2 card base with a slightly smaller panel from heavyweight white card stock. This time I protected a strip of my panel along the bottom first and splattered again with gold and white gold metallic watercolour paint. I removed the post it tape once the splatter was dry and went with the gold peel offs on their own, choosing two different widths to work with this time. I placed a two of the medium sizes and placed a thinner one in the middle, to give that same sense of separation I have on the first card.

I used the same floral paper as I did with the butterfly, to cut out the botanical dragonfly using my die cutting machine. Again, I ran the wings through twice only this time I turned my paper over so I could create the wings for both sides of the dragonfly. I adhered the two lower wings to my panel using my double sided tape as I wanted them to be flat, for the two top wings I adhered the part that would be behind the dragonfly’s body with score tape and popped up the ends with mini foam squares. I adhered the dragonfly’s body down the middle of my wings, using score tape directly on top of the wings and a mini foam square to support the back of the dragonfly’s head.

I took some black card stock and prepped it with my heat tool, I stamped my sentiment from Altenew’s Carousel stamp set in Tsukineko Versamark ink, coated it in Altenew pure white embossing powder and set it with my heat tool. I cut the sentiment in to a thin strip using my paper trimmer and adhered it across my dragonfly using the double sided score tape. I then backed the entire panel in double sided foam tape and adhered to my card base to finish up!

Thanks for reading lovelies! I had a lot of fun playing with these dies, I want to say a special thanks to Spellbinders for reaching out to me once again and giving me this wonderful opportunity! The dies themselves are absolutely beautiful and great for making beautiful cards year round, no matter the occasion! The detail in these dies specifically had me in awe! Which of the two dies is your favourite?

In Omnia Paratus Card Using Ink Road Stamps “Stars Hollow”!

Hey lovelies! ❤

Today I want to share with you the second card I’ve made with this gorgeous stamp set from Ink Road Stamps! Anybody who watches Gilmore Girls will know of the Life and Death Brigade and the latin term ‘In Omnia Paratus’ which means ‘ready for anything’! Some of my favourite moments in the show happened with Rory and the Life and Death Brigade, although I’m still team Jess! With that being said, I couldn’t NOT make this card!

~Tools and products used will be listed at the end of this blog post!~

33377003_2113442525350239_8902136490595713024_n.jpg

I made my tall card base and cut a panel slightly smaller from white card stock, I wanted it to represent the jump made by Rory and Logan with the rest of the group so I felt it was most appropriate! I cut a cloud shape stencil from white card stock again, and began inking my panel from the top with my Ranger/Tim Holtz Salty Ocean Distress Ink. I kept blending the colour all the way down to the bottom of my panel, once finished I distressed it with my Distress Spray bottle.

For the little umbrellas I stamped them with Tsukineko Memento tuxedo black ink on white card stock, then coloured them in rainbow colours using my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. I took a small circle die and cut them out using my Big Shot machine.

For my sentiments I treated some black card stock with my EK Success powder tool, so the embossing powder wouldn’t stick to anywhere else apart from where I stamped. I stamped both sentiments in Tsukineko Versamark ink, covered them in Altenew pure white embossing powder and set them with my heat tool before cutting them in to thin strips using my paper trimmer. I used my scissors to create a little fish tail banner for the “you jump, I jump” sentiment.

For assembly I began by cutting down some black matte paper to create a border around my panel on the card, adhering it to my card base with my regular tape runner. I then wrapped some blue and white twine around the left side of my panel, adhering it to the back with some washi tape. I backed the umbrella circles and sentiments with double sided foam tape, adhered the umbrellas over the twine and put the sentiments in place where I had planned. I finished by backing the entire panel in foam tape and adhering to my card base.

Sarcastic Coffee Card Using Ink Road Stamps “Stars Hollow”

Hey lovelies! ❤

By now I probably don’t need to explain my love for coffee, or Gilmore Girls for that matter! I made this card yesterday after learning about the Coffee Lover’s blog hop that started on Friday! So of course, being a Lorelai Gilmore on the coffee addiction scale I just HAD to use the Stars Hollow Set from Ink Road Stamps again!

~Tools and products used will be listed at the end of this blog post!~

33540697_2115506188477206_3129293552454991872_n.jpg

I began by treating a piece of white card stock with my EK success powder tool as I knew I was going to emboss my images for this card. I stamped the to go coffee cups in a random fashion in Tsukineko Versafine onyx black ink, coated in clear embossing powder and set them with my heat tool. I used a circle die to cut out the area I wanted with my Sizzix Big Shot machine. I’d never tried watercolouring on my white card stock before, but I didn’t want the texture which my watercolour paper has for this piece. I found that as long as I don’t use too much water, it holds up just fine! I took my Salty Ocean distress ink, spread some on my glass craft mat and sprayed with some water, picking up the colour with a paintbrush I painted the areas around the coffee cups with the ink. I moved on to using some brown, orange and green watercolour paints for the coffee cups themselves and set the circle aside to dry.

I created my card base and cut some matte black paper slightly smaller then adhered it with my regular tape runner. I created a panel with some foiled card stock from DCWV. I prepped some black card stock with my powder tool and chose my sentiments, I chose “coffee please, people are particularly stupid today, I cannot talk to any more of them”, I love a good sassy sentiment! This is an iconic Michelle moment in Gilmore Girls and I can’t read that phrase without reading it in his voice! I stamped my sentiments in Tsukineko Versamark ink and heat embossed it in Altenew Pure White embossing powder, cutting them in to thin strips.

By this time the circle panel was dry, so I took a die from the Avery Elle tag dies and partially die cut it on either side of the circle. I backed the circle with double sided foam tape as I wanted it to add a little extra dimension to the card. I used some blue and white twine and threaded it through the holes on either side of the circle. Adhering the circle to the foiled card stock panel, I wrapped the twine behind the foiled panel and adhered it to the back with some washi tape. I glued my sentiments flat to the card using my regular tape runner, backed the entire panel in foam tape and adhered to my card base.

I Miss You Friendship Card Using Distress Inks!

Hello lovelies! ❤

Sharing another quick and easy card with you today, perfect to send to those you may not see every day!

~Tools and products used will be listed at the end of this blog post!~

32947045_2108496255844866_727634259568754688_n

I cut a panel from white card stock and picked which distress ink colours I wanted to work with (colours used & links will be listed at the end of this post!). The sun was shining so it only seemed right to go for some red, yellow and pink for that summery feel! I placed the inks directly on to my glass craft mat and sprayed with some water, then smooshed my panel on the surface to pick up the colour remembering to dry between each layer for a textured feel. When I was happy with how  it looked I splattered it with some gold metallic watercolour paint from my Gansai Tambi “Starry Colors” palette and set aside to dry.

I created my card base and top panel using white card stock and rounded the corners with a corner punch. I then cut some black matte paper larger than my top panel and rounded the corners for a cohesive look and adhered to my card base. To finish my top panel I die cut the stitched heart window with Lawn Fawn’s Outside In Stitched Heart stackable dies.

For my sentiment I decided to go with the “I Miss You” stamp from Simon Says Stamp “Seeing Stars”. I treated some black card stock with my EK Success powder tool, stamped my sentiment in Versamark ink and heat embossed it with Altenew Pure White embossing powder. I cut it down in to a thin sentiment strip and adhered it across the back of my stitched heart using my regular tape runner.

To finish the card I backed the stitched heart panel with foam tape and adhered it to the ink smooshed panel, then adhered it to my card base using my regular tape runner.

Donut You Know Friendship Card Using Some Odd Girl “Sweet & Salty”!

Hello lovelies! ❤

Hands up if you have a sweet tooth?! I tend to side with the saltier things in life but donuts are one exception to that rule! I was gifted this cute stamp set by my friend Anna a little while ago, knowing if it’s cute and food related I’m in LOVE!

~Tools and products used will be listed at the end of this blog post!~

32941456_2108447172516441_7529101214898716672_n

I knew I wanted to work with the donut stamp from this set as I had a sentiment from Lawn Fawn’s “Sweet Friends” set that would go great with it! I began by creating my card base and adhering some black matte paper on top, then cut my panel slightly smaller from watercolour paper. I treated the watercolour paper with my EK Success powder tool as I was planning to heat emboss my images. I used Versafine Onyx Black ink to stamp my donuts all over my panel, coated them in clear embossing powder from papermania then set them with my heat tool.

I moved on to colouring my images, I knew I wanted the frosting on the donuts to be pretty bright so I decided to watercolour it with distress inks. I decided on a blue and pink ink and used the alternate colour of sprinkles for each donut. I used my watercolour paint for the actual donut underneath as I didn’t have a distress ink that would fit the colour.

For my sentiment I treated some black card stock with my powder tool, used my Versamark ink to stamp my sentiment and heat embossed it in Altenew pure white embossing powder. I then cut them in to thin sentiment strips and cut the edges at an angle. I adhered them to my panel using my regular tape runner. To finish the card I backed the donut panel with foam tape and adhered to my card base.

I started by stamping out my images and colouring them with my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers (although for the glass in the space ship I did use a light blue coloured pencil as I don’t currently have a colourless blender!). I wanted them to be in bright, fun colours as I felt this card would be perfect for a kid’s birthday! For the alien in the space ship I stamped the ship first, creating a mask using a post-it note and stamped the alien over top to give the illusion he’s sitting in the ship! Once I had my images all coloured I added some details and highlights with my white gel pen before fussy cutting them out by hand. For the beam coming out of the space ship I knew I wanted it to be transparent, so the cake would be visible while the alien is sneaking it on to their ship! Sneaky! I achieved this by heat embossing on some heat resistant acetate with my Altenew pure white embossing powder then fussy cut around the embossed lines. I adhered the beam directly on to the back of the space ship so it would be popped up on the same level as the ship when I finished the card.

I created my card base and cut a panel slightly smaller from white card stock. I adhered some black matte paper to my card base for the black border. I wanted the card to be on the fun and colourful side but still with that galaxy sky feel, I knew I was going to adhere a circle panel to the bottom of the card for the sentiment (and for those sneaky aliens to be standing on!). I left a lighter blue aura around where the “moon” would be and blended purple/pink and blue together for the top to make it darker. I sprayed the background with my Ranger/Tim Holtz distress sprayer, then splattered the background with white paint and metallic watercolour paint from my Gansai Tambi “Starry Colors” palette for a little shimmer.

I die cut a circle panel from white card stock and adhered it to the panel, cutting off any excess from the sides. I prepped it with my EK Success powder tool so embossing powder would only stick to where I stamped my sentiment. I stamped my sentiment using versafine onyx black ink and coated it with Papermania clear embossing powder before setting it with my heat tool until it was smooth and shiny. I adhered all my images where I wanted them using my usual tape runner apart from the space ship with the acetate attached, and the earth which I popped up using foam tape. To finish I backed the entire panel in foam tape and adhered to my card base.

Thanks for reading lovelies! ❤ I loved getting back in to colouring with my alcohol markers with this card, it feels like I’ve been mainly focused on watercolour lately while trying to get used to the medium and then falling madly in love with it. For all you crafty geniuses, which medium is your absolute favourite to use? I want to keep trying new things as I move forward! ❤
