Sending Love With Heffy Doodle “Yappy Happy Mail” Set!

Hey lovelies!
We all love a bit of happy mail don’t we? “Just because” cards are amongst my favourites to send and this set from Heffy Doodle is just perfect to show someone you’re thinking of them!
1.jpg
I started by stamping my images using Memento Tuxedo Black ink, coloured them with my alcohol markers and fussy cut them out. I used a white gel pen to add highlights and details to my images. I coloured the whole set because it was just too adorable!
2.jpg
I die cut my base panel using the Mama Elephant “Basic Rectangles” Creative Cuts and the laced heart from Lawn Fawn “Lacy Heart Stackables” dies. I love layering die cuts on cards to add a little more dimension!
3.jpg
I blended some Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide ink on to my heart before splattering it with white gold metallic watercolour paint and some white paint.
4.jpg
I cut another heart using the Lacy Heart Stackables and trimmed the bottom off to make my hill to ground my images. To add a little extra detail I weaved some red and white twine through the lace around the heart.
5.jpg
I stamped my sentiment on the white part of my heart using Versafine Onyx Black ink. Once my sentiment was dry I adhered my images to my panel and used a black pen to create the little dotted line between them. I added some red and white twine around the bottom of my rectangle panel, tied a bow and adhered the bow in to place using Ranger Multi Medium Matte adhesive so it wouldn’t move around too much. I adhered the heart to my rectangle panel flat, backed the rectangle with 3M Scotch Double Sided Foam Tape and adhered that to my card base!

Adorable Christmas Card Using Mama Elephant “Yappy Woofmas” Set!

Hey lovelies!
Are you all preparing for Christmas yet? There have been so many amazing sets being released lately it’s hard not to think about the holidays! I couldn’t wait to dive in to this lot of cuties from the Mama Elephant “Yappy Woofmas” set! I have two dogs of my own, meaning I have a serious soft spot when there’s a new set filled with cute dogs!
1.jpg
I stamped my images using Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured them using my alcohol markers. I ended up only using three of them for this card and set the others aside for a separate project! I added blush to their cheeks with a pink coloured pencil, as well as details and highlights using a white gel pen before fussy cutting them out.
2.jpg
I die cut a panel using the Mama Elephant “Basic Rectangles” Creative Cuts and cut some windows on my panel with the Lawn Fawn “Outside In Stitched Heart Stackables” dies to keep with the stitched theme! Once I was finished with die cutting I splattered some silver and pale gold metallic watercolour paint on my panel, unfortunately this doesn’t show too well in photos but it adds a lovely shimmer to the card when it hits the light!
3
I used Evergreen Bough Distress Oxide ink and blended it on to some white card stock before spraying it with my distress sprayer. I cut this in to sections to become the backgrounds of the windows in my panel!
4.jpg
I stamped my sentiment from Lawn Fawn’s “Winter Skies” set directly on to my panel using Versafine Onyx Black ink, coated it in clear embossing powder and set with my heat tool. I adhered the backgrounds to the smaller hearts directly against the back of the panel, but added some foam tape for the larger heart to add some depth. I popped my little dogs in place and adhered my panel to my card base!

Thanks for reading lovelies! I’m sure I’m going to get a lot of use from this set this year! There are so many adorable images I haven’t even used yet!

Cute Firework Scene Using Lawn Fawn and MFT Stamps!

Hey lovelies!
With Guy Fawkes night just around the corner I created this “just because” card using the gorgeous new “Winter Skies” set from Lawn Fawn alongside MFT’s “Fireworks” set! We don’t usually send cards for Guy Fawkes night here, but for me if there’s a celebration that’s reason enough for me to make a card to send to my loved ones!
1.jpg
I cut a panel using the “Basic Rectangles” Creative Cuts from Mama Elephant, stamped my fireworks using Versamark ink, coated them in white embossing powder and set with my heat tool. I blended Abandoned Coral, Mermaid Lagoon and Seedless Preserves Distress Ink in small areas all over my panel before blending Black Soot Distress Ink all over keeping it darker towards the edges. I sprayed my panel with my Distress Sprayer and cleaned up the excess water. I splattered the entire panel using white watercolour paint and some metallic gold watercolour paint to give a slight shimmer.
2.jpg3.jpg
I stamped my images from Lawn Fawn’s “Winter Skies” set using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured them using my alcohol markers. I fussy cut them out and added some highlights with a white gel pen. To ground my images I cut a panel the same size as my background from black card stock, and cut a simple hill shape using my scissors before adhering everything in to place.
45.jpg
I cut a larger panel from white card stock using the “Basic Rectangles” Creative Cuts to frame my smaller panel and stamped it with fireworks using Iced Spruce Distress Oxide Ink. I used my powder tool on the black hill piece of my card, stamped my sentiment from Neat and Tangled’s “Beavers Eh” stamp set, heat embossed it with white embossing powder and adhered everything to my card base!

Thanks for reading lovelies! I definitely love how well these two sets work together! I feel like this would be a great idea for New Year cards too!

Simple Halloween Card Using Lawn Fawn “Trick or Treat” set!

Hey lovelies!
I’ve been digging through my craft supplies and pulling out everything fall/Halloween related! If you know me, you know I love a good small stamp that I can make quick and easy backgrounds with! These candy corn from Lawn Fawn are no exception to that – look at their cute little faces! I couldn’t resist making a simple card using them!
1
I trimmed down a panel from white card stock and stamped my candy corn in a random pattern all over using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I usually do these backgrounds with watercolour but I love how vivid my Spectrum Noir pens make the candy corn in this case!
23.jpg
When colouring I usually work from darkest to lightest:
Orange section: CR7 -> OR3 -> OR2
Yellow section: GB4 -> GB3 -> LY1
4.jpg
I added shadows using my GG1 Spectrum Noir marker, and highlights with my white gelly roll pen. I love adding these little details as I feel like it makes them stand out more!
5.jpg
I used the smallest of my Inside Scalloped Circle dies and cut it from white card stock, removing the middle piece that I would be using for my sentiment. I blended Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide ink on to my sentiment piece, before blending some Carved Pumpkin Distress Oxide ink around the edges for some dimension. I dried the ink with my heat tool and prepped with my EK Success powder tool applicator. I stamped my sentiment from Newton’s Nook’s “Boo-tiful Night” set using Versafine Onyx Black ink, coated it in clear embossing powder and set it with my heat tool. I picked out some orange ribbon and backed it with double sided score tape, I adhered that directly to my panel and popped my sentiment up with some foam tape. I backed my panel with double sided score tape and adhered to my card base!

I Miss You Friendship Card Using Distress Inks!

Hello lovelies! ❤

Sharing another quick and easy card with you today, perfect to send to those you may not see every day!

~Tools and products used will be listed at the end of this blog post!~

32947045_2108496255844866_727634259568754688_n

I cut a panel from white card stock and picked which distress ink colours I wanted to work with (colours used & links will be listed at the end of this post!). The sun was shining so it only seemed right to go for some red, yellow and pink for that summery feel! I placed the inks directly on to my glass craft mat and sprayed with some water, then smooshed my panel on the surface to pick up the colour remembering to dry between each layer for a textured feel. When I was happy with how  it looked I splattered it with some gold metallic watercolour paint from my Gansai Tambi “Starry Colors” palette and set aside to dry.

I created my card base and top panel using white card stock and rounded the corners with a corner punch. I then cut some black matte paper larger than my top panel and rounded the corners for a cohesive look and adhered to my card base. To finish my top panel I die cut the stitched heart window with Lawn Fawn’s Outside In Stitched Heart stackable dies.

For my sentiment I decided to go with the “I Miss You” stamp from Simon Says Stamp “Seeing Stars”. I treated some black card stock with my EK Success powder tool, stamped my sentiment in Versamark ink and heat embossed it with Altenew Pure White embossing powder. I cut it down in to a thin sentiment strip and adhered it across the back of my stitched heart using my regular tape runner.

To finish the card I backed the stitched heart panel with foam tape and adhered it to the ink smooshed panel, then adhered it to my card base using my regular tape runner.

Donut You Know Friendship Card Using Some Odd Girl “Sweet & Salty”!

Hello lovelies! ❤

Hands up if you have a sweet tooth?! I tend to side with the saltier things in life but donuts are one exception to that rule! I was gifted this cute stamp set by my friend Anna a little while ago, knowing if it’s cute and food related I’m in LOVE!

~Tools and products used will be listed at the end of this blog post!~

32941456_2108447172516441_7529101214898716672_n

I knew I wanted to work with the donut stamp from this set as I had a sentiment from Lawn Fawn’s “Sweet Friends” set that would go great with it! I began by creating my card base and adhering some black matte paper on top, then cut my panel slightly smaller from watercolour paper. I treated the watercolour paper with my EK Success powder tool as I was planning to heat emboss my images. I used Versafine Onyx Black ink to stamp my donuts all over my panel, coated them in clear embossing powder from papermania then set them with my heat tool.

I moved on to colouring my images, I knew I wanted the frosting on the donuts to be pretty bright so I decided to watercolour it with distress inks. I decided on a blue and pink ink and used the alternate colour of sprinkles for each donut. I used my watercolour paint for the actual donut underneath as I didn’t have a distress ink that would fit the colour.

For my sentiment I treated some black card stock with my powder tool, used my Versamark ink to stamp my sentiment and heat embossed it in Altenew pure white embossing powder. I then cut them in to thin sentiment strips and cut the edges at an angle. I adhered them to my panel using my regular tape runner. To finish the card I backed the donut panel with foam tape and adhered to my card base.

Thanks for reading lovelies! ❤ I can’t wait to play with this set again in the future, the images are a great size and are too cute to just sit away in storage! I hope you’ve all had a wonderful weekend! 🙂

Cute Alien Card Using Lawn Fawn “Beam Me Up!”

Hello lovelies! ❤

Today I’m sharing this space themed card using Lawn Fawn’s Beam Me Up stamp set. I have a soft spot for anything to do with space, and who could resist these adorable little aliens?! I used some stamps Lawn Fawn’s Out Of This World set too, specifically the planets! 🙂

~Tools and products used will be listed at the end of this blog post!~

32080321_2095411943819964_725680143938355200_n.jpg

I started by stamping out my images and colouring them with my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers (although for the glass in the space ship I did use a light blue coloured pencil as I don’t currently have a colourless blender!). I wanted them to be in bright, fun colours as I felt this card would be perfect for a kid’s birthday! For the alien in the space ship I stamped the ship first, creating a mask using a post-it note and stamped the alien over top to give the illusion he’s sitting in the ship! Once I had my images all coloured I added some details and highlights with my white gel pen before fussy cutting them out by hand. For the beam coming out of the space ship I knew I wanted it to be transparent, so the cake would be visible while the alien is sneaking it on to their ship! Sneaky! I achieved this by heat embossing on some heat resistant acetate with my Altenew pure white embossing powder then fussy cut around the embossed lines. I adhered the beam directly on to the back of the space ship so it would be popped up on the same level as the ship when I finished the card.

I created my card base and cut a panel slightly smaller from white card stock. I adhered some black matte paper to my card base for the black border. I wanted the card to be on the fun and colourful side but still with that galaxy sky feel, I knew I was going to adhere a circle panel to the bottom of the card for the sentiment (and for those sneaky aliens to be standing on!). I left a lighter blue aura around where the “moon” would be and blended purple/pink and blue together for the top to make it darker. I sprayed the background with my Ranger/Tim Holtz distress sprayer, then splattered the background with white paint and metallic watercolour paint from my Gansai Tambi “Starry Colors” palette for a little shimmer.

I die cut a circle panel from white card stock and adhered it to the panel, cutting off any excess from the sides. I prepped it with my EK Success powder tool so embossing powder would only stick to where I stamped my sentiment. I stamped my sentiment using versafine onyx black ink and coated it with Papermania clear embossing powder before setting it with my heat tool until it was smooth and shiny. I adhered all my images where I wanted them using my usual tape runner apart from the space ship with the acetate attached, and the earth which I popped up using foam tape. To finish I backed the entire panel in foam tape and adhered to my card base.

Thanks for reading lovelies! ❤ I loved getting back in to colouring with my alcohol markers with this card, it feels like I’ve been mainly focused on watercolour lately while trying to get used to the medium and then falling madly in love with it. For all you crafty geniuses, which medium is your absolute favourite to use? I want to keep trying new things as I move forward! ❤

Simple But Colourful Thank You Card!

Hello lovelies! ❤

Today I wanted to share with you a simple way to make a colourful thank you card! Most of us already have some backgrounds sitting around from previous projects that we either didn’t finish or didn’t fit what we had in store for what we were working on at the time. I had this background panel sitting around for a while, so I decided that I was going to use it for an easy card rather than having it collect dust in storage!

~Tools and products used will be listed at the end of this blog post!~

31961453_2095408473820311_3953564747982438400_n

I had this background from experimenting with galaxy backgrounds, but I stopped half way through because I didn’t want to cover up the results from the ink smooshing with something darker! I splattered with my Gansai Tambi metallic watercolours from the “Starry Colors” palette to give it a little bit of shimmer and set aside for another day. When I picked it back up, I knew I wanted to make a relatively easy card so the colour here could be the main focus. I cut the panel in half at an angle so I could save the other half for another project.

I created my card base and cut a panel from white card stock slightly smaller than my base. I then adhered my ink smooshed panel to the bottom right of the panel using my regular tape runner. I took a gold peel off from Love from Lizi and placed it just above the coloured panel, creating a thin border between the panel and the white space above. I cut my sentiment from black card stock using the Lawn Fawn Thank You border die and adhered it diagonally across my white panel using my Ranger multi medium matte adhesive. I adhered some matte black paper to my card base, then adhered my panel to it using foam tape. I finished the card off with some tiny gems for a bit extra sparkle!

32207434_2097216716972820_1212152256124682240_n

Thank you for reading lovelies! ❤ This was a really quick card to make, which is so far out of my comfort zone. I’m always obsessing over whether a card needs “more” (I know I’m not alone here! :p).

Sweet Friendship Card using Lawn Fawn “Sweet Friends” Stamp Set

Hey lovelies! ❤

Today I want to share with you a card I made using the Lawn Fawn – Sweet Friends stamps and coordinating die set. Cute food and animal images are my weaknesses when it comes to card making, so I knew from the adorable sweet treats images and punny sentiments in this set I was going to be in love!

~Tools and products used will be listed at the end of this blog post!~

31189793_2079625112065314_1199116944481976320_n

I started by stamping out the little s’more images and the little heart trio with Ranger Archival jet black ink on to some watercolour paper, while making this card I was just in the process of trying to become more comfortable with watercolour painting images/backgrounds. Once I painted them and was happy enough with the results, I used the coordinating die set to cut out my images using my Big Shot. I then stamped their little faces and drew in some blushing cheeks using coloured pencil (I didn’t stamp the faces at first as I wasn’t sure if I was going to use them on this card).

Once my images were ready I ink blended on to a piece of white scrap card stock using the Ranger/Tim Holtz Salty Ocean distress ink and used my spray bottle to give it the distressed look I wanted. Once dry, I decided to cut out a laced heart using the medium die from the Lawn Fawn Lacy Heart Stackable die set. I played about with placement to figure out where I wanted my little characters to go as well as the little hearts from the set, once I was happy I adhered the s’mores with some 3M double sided foam tape and the hearts with some Ranger multi medium matte adhesive.

Choosing a patterned paper was probably one of the things that took me the longest here, I just couldn’t decide! But I ended up going with this kraft paper with the white foil polkadots as I felt it suited the card best. I cut some black matte paper for my card base to size as well as the patterned paper, I adhered them using my usual tape runner adhesive and glued the blue heart with my little characters close to the top of my card in the centre.

For the sentiment I took a strip of black card stock and ran my EK Success powder tool over it, then heat embossed “I need S’MORE friends like you” with Altenew pure white embossing powder. I cut it to the size I needed and adhered it under the blue heart, and that was the card finished!

31143959_2079625098731982_8258129122635546624_n

Thank you for reading lovelies! ❤ Overall this was a pretty simple card, but I love the end result! I definitely plan to make more cards in the future using some of the other images in the set, they’re just too cute to resist!

Lawn Fawn Sending Hugs/Get Well Soon Card!

Hey lovelies! ❤

Is it just me or is everyone getting catching a bug lately?! Having a few get well soon cards on hand is a must, you never know when you’ll need one! I personally love this Lawn Fawn – On the Mend set for times like this, the adorable little images and the supportive sentiments are some I always reach for when making a get well soon card!

~Tools and products used will be listed at the end of this blog post!~

31046334_2077504595610699_3001813468501245952_n

I stamped some of the images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, as I planned to us my Spectrum Noir markers for this project. I coloured the little bowl and spoon, and cut them out by hand without leaving a white border as I knew I wanted to do some paper piecing for the tissue box to get that spotted pattern! I also cut a small slit in the lining of the bowl using my craft knife, to make room for the spoon to slot in. For the tissue box I stamped the image twice, once on white card stock and once on the yellow polka dot patterned paper. I fussy cut them both out being sure to remove the actual tissue from the yellow polka dot image, so the white tissue from behind could pop through once I adhered the pieces together!

I moved on to creating the panel and die cutting the circle window as well as the inlayed frame, before moving on to the ink blended background. I decided to use my distress inks for this, as I knew I wanted that vibrant distressed look when you spray the paper with water after blending. I chose the warm tones because usually when I’m sick I want to stay wrapped up and toasty, preferably with a cup of tea (and if I’m lucky, a digestive biscuit!).

After my in blended panel was ready and distressed, it was time to start assembling the card. I put a black matte paper on my card base, as well as some fun rainbow paper to brighten anybody’s mood!I adhered my white panel with the window and the inlayed frame directly on to the rainbow paper, as I didn’t want this card to have too much bulk. After playing around with placement for my images I adhered them using my regular tape runner. I heat embossed my sentiment using Altenew Pure White embossing powder on a thin black strip of black card stock and mounted that on some foam tape, just below the images within the frame!

Thank you for reading lovelies! Overall this was a pretty quick and simple card to make, and I love the finished result! I’m sure whoever the recipient is will get a smile out of it when they receive it!<3
