Christmas Card Using Avery Elle “A Merry Little Christmas” Set!

Hey lovelies!
Today I’m sharing another Christmas card, this time using Avery Elle’s “A Merry Little Christmas” stamp set!
1.jpg
I stamped my images using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured them using my alcohol markers, added highlights and details with a white gel pen before fussy cutting them out. I had so much fun colouring up this set, all of the images are just too cute!
2.jpg
I die cut my base panel using the “Basic Rectangles” Creative Cuts from Mama Elephant and ink blended it with Broken China Distress Oxide ink. I sprayed the panel with my Distress sprayer and cleaned up the excess water. Once it was fully dry I splattered it with white gold metallic watercolour paint and some white watercolour paint to give the impression of snow falling.
3.jpg
Once my panel was dry I used my powder tool on it to avoid excess embossing powder sticking to my background. I stamped my sentiment using Versamark ink, coated it in white embossing powder and set with my heat tool. I cut an extra panel from the “Basic Rectangle” Creative Cuts and cut a curved hill shape from it with my scissors. I adhered my hill to my panel and decided placement for my images. I adhered the mouse and bear at the back flat, and popped up the hedgehog, penguin and mouse at the front using 3M Scotch Double Sided Foam Tape before adhering my panel to my card to finish!

Sending Love With Heffy Doodle “Yappy Happy Mail” Set!

Hey lovelies!
We all love a bit of happy mail don’t we? “Just because” cards are amongst my favourites to send and this set from Heffy Doodle is just perfect to show someone you’re thinking of them!
1.jpg
I started by stamping my images using Memento Tuxedo Black ink, coloured them with my alcohol markers and fussy cut them out. I used a white gel pen to add highlights and details to my images. I coloured the whole set because it was just too adorable!
2.jpg
I die cut my base panel using the Mama Elephant “Basic Rectangles” Creative Cuts and the laced heart from Lawn Fawn “Lacy Heart Stackables” dies. I love layering die cuts on cards to add a little more dimension!
3.jpg
I blended some Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide ink on to my heart before splattering it with white gold metallic watercolour paint and some white paint.
4.jpg
I cut another heart using the Lacy Heart Stackables and trimmed the bottom off to make my hill to ground my images. To add a little extra detail I weaved some red and white twine through the lace around the heart.
5.jpg
I stamped my sentiment on the white part of my heart using Versafine Onyx Black ink. Once my sentiment was dry I adhered my images to my panel and used a black pen to create the little dotted line between them. I added some red and white twine around the bottom of my rectangle panel, tied a bow and adhered the bow in to place using Ranger Multi Medium Matte adhesive so it wouldn’t move around too much. I adhered the heart to my rectangle panel flat, backed the rectangle with 3M Scotch Double Sided Foam Tape and adhered that to my card base!

Thanks for reading lovelies! Isn’t this set from Heffy Doodle just adorable? It’s so versatile it could be used for so many occasions!

Adorable Christmas Card Using Mama Elephant “Yappy Woofmas” Set!

Hey lovelies!
Are you all preparing for Christmas yet? There have been so many amazing sets being released lately it’s hard not to think about the holidays! I couldn’t wait to dive in to this lot of cuties from the Mama Elephant “Yappy Woofmas” set! I have two dogs of my own, meaning I have a serious soft spot when there’s a new set filled with cute dogs!
1.jpg
I stamped my images using Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured them using my alcohol markers. I ended up only using three of them for this card and set the others aside for a separate project! I added blush to their cheeks with a pink coloured pencil, as well as details and highlights using a white gel pen before fussy cutting them out.
2.jpg
I die cut a panel using the Mama Elephant “Basic Rectangles” Creative Cuts and cut some windows on my panel with the Lawn Fawn “Outside In Stitched Heart Stackables” dies to keep with the stitched theme! Once I was finished with die cutting I splattered some silver and pale gold metallic watercolour paint on my panel, unfortunately this doesn’t show too well in photos but it adds a lovely shimmer to the card when it hits the light!
3
I used Evergreen Bough Distress Oxide ink and blended it on to some white card stock before spraying it with my distress sprayer. I cut this in to sections to become the backgrounds of the windows in my panel!
4.jpg
I stamped my sentiment from Lawn Fawn’s “Winter Skies” set directly on to my panel using Versafine Onyx Black ink, coated it in clear embossing powder and set with my heat tool. I adhered the backgrounds to the smaller hearts directly against the back of the panel, but added some foam tape for the larger heart to add some depth. I popped my little dogs in place and adhered my panel to my card base!

Cute Firework Scene Using Lawn Fawn and MFT Stamps!

Hey lovelies!
With Guy Fawkes night just around the corner I created this “just because” card using the gorgeous new “Winter Skies” set from Lawn Fawn alongside MFT’s “Fireworks” set! We don’t usually send cards for Guy Fawkes night here, but for me if there’s a celebration that’s reason enough for me to make a card to send to my loved ones!
1.jpg
I cut a panel using the “Basic Rectangles” Creative Cuts from Mama Elephant, stamped my fireworks using Versamark ink, coated them in white embossing powder and set with my heat tool. I blended Abandoned Coral, Mermaid Lagoon and Seedless Preserves Distress Ink in small areas all over my panel before blending Black Soot Distress Ink all over keeping it darker towards the edges. I sprayed my panel with my Distress Sprayer and cleaned up the excess water. I splattered the entire panel using white watercolour paint and some metallic gold watercolour paint to give a slight shimmer.
2.jpg3.jpg
I stamped my images from Lawn Fawn’s “Winter Skies” set using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured them using my alcohol markers. I fussy cut them out and added some highlights with a white gel pen. To ground my images I cut a panel the same size as my background from black card stock, and cut a simple hill shape using my scissors before adhering everything in to place.
45.jpg
I cut a larger panel from white card stock using the “Basic Rectangles” Creative Cuts to frame my smaller panel and stamped it with fireworks using Iced Spruce Distress Oxide Ink. I used my powder tool on the black hill piece of my card, stamped my sentiment from Neat and Tangled’s “Beavers Eh” stamp set, heat embossed it with white embossing powder and adhered everything to my card base!

Thanks for reading lovelies! I definitely love how well these two sets work together! I feel like this would be a great idea for New Year cards too!

Simple Halloween Card Using Simon Says Stamp “If The Hat Fits”!

Hey lovelies!
Back to the Halloween cards today! Now I know not a lot of people have hours and hours to spend making their cards for every occasion, so today I thought I’d share a really simple way of making cute cards fast! The “If The Hat Fits” set from Simon Says Stamp is a really amazing set to achieve simple but fun cards, the hat images are a great size for a focal point and the larger sentiments compliment them perfectly!
1.jpg
I had previously stamped out this set using Memento Tuxedo Black ink as I knew I wanted to use it for this year’s Halloween cards. I did some quick colouring using my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and added details/highlights with my white gelly roll pen.
Spectrum Noir markers used:
Hat: LG5, LG3, LG2
Ribbon: CR7, OR2, FS9
2.jpg
I fussy cut out my image, I used my craft knife to cut the little piece between the bend of the hat and the ribbon. I cut down a panel for my card and blended in a circular motion towards the bottom left using Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide ink (I just love how greens and yellows compliment each other!), sprayed it with my distress sprayer before cleaning up any excess water with a paper towel. I splattered my panel with black watercolour paint and Twisted Citron Distress Oxide ink using a paintbrush and some water then allowed it to completely dry. Once it was dry I prepped my panel with my EK Success powder tool, I stamped my sentiment at a slight angle using Versafine Onyx Black ink, coated it in clear embossing powder and set with my heat tool. I stamped a couple of the stars from the set with Versafine ink to draw attention to my sentiment. I adhered the hat to my panel using double sided foam tape to add some dimension. Finally I framed my panel using black card stock and adhered to my card base using double sided score tape!

Halloween Card Using Leftover Supplies from Love From Lizi 2017 Card Kit!

Hey lovelies!
My crafty friends who know me, know I LOVE to hoard Halloween supplies. Some things are just too pretty to use! I’ve made it my mission this year to use all the things that I’ve been hoarding for quite some time now, some of those supplies come from the Love From Lizi Halloween card kit from last year! I couldn’t bring myself to use most of the pretty papers and bits and bobs last year, so here is the first of the cards I’ve made with what I have left over!
1.jpg
I cut down two white panels one for my base and the other to ink smoosh and stamp. I ink smooshed my smaller panel with Twisted Citron and a little bit of Evergreen Bough Distress Oxide ink, drying between layers. Once it was completely dry I splattered some of the Evergreen Bough ink on to my ink smooshed panel and my white panel with a paint brush, I also splattered some black watercolour paint on my white panel. I stamped my skulls from the Love from Lizi “Punny Bones” set in a pattern using Versafine Onyx Black ink. I ran it through my die cutting machine with the largest of my Inside Scalloped Octagon dies from Craftin Desert Divas and removed the inside piece to use on my card. I ran the same die through once more using black card stock to create my frame.
2
I cut a piece of the green and black patterned paper in to a large ribbon to go down the left side of my card and adhered everything in to place using double sided score tape.
3.jpg
I trimmed the top off of the Octagon using my paper trimmer. I prepped a thin strip of black card stock with my EK Success powder tool and stamped my sentiment from Newton’s Nook’s “Boo-tiful Night” stamp set in Versamark ink, coated it in white embossing powder and set with my heat tool. I used my scissors to create a fish tail at the end of my sentiment banner and popped it up on my panel using double sided foam tape. I cut a panel from the patterned paper slightly larger than my base panel of my card and adhered both to my card base using double sided score tape. I finished up by framing my sentiment with some Ebony Black Nuvo drops.

Witch Way To The Candy? Cute Halloween Card Using Newton’s Nook “Boo-tiful Night” Set! (Inky Paws Challenge #80)

Hey lovelies!
Today I’m sharing this cute Halloween card I made for Newton’s Nook “Inky Paws” challenge! You can check out more about the challenge here! For this challenge you have to follow a card sketch, which is something I’ve never done before! Of course I had to make the theme of my card Halloween – we all know I’m on a Halloween kick lately and I doubt I’ll stop making Halloween cards until November at this rate!
1.jpg
To start I stamped this cute little witch cat using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured him in using my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. I added rosy cheeks with a pink coloured pencil and highlights with my white gelly roll pen.
Spectrum Noir colours used:
Cat: (Fur) IG5, GG2, GG1 (Nose) CR2 (Ears) CR2, FS8
Broom: TN5, TN3, GB6, GB1, CR7, OR3, OR2
Hat: BG5, BG3, CR7, OR3, OR2
2
Once I had fussy cut out my image, I cut down a panel from heavy white card stock. I made a smaller panel the same width and cut across it diagonally, I blended Carved Pumpkin Distress Oxide ink on to my diagonal strip, sprayed it with my distress sprayer and dried any excess water with a paper towel. I dried the ink with my heat tool before stamping the small bat from the stamp set in a pattern using Versafine Onyx Black ink. I took another piece of white card stock and ran it through my die cutting machine with the medium Inside Scalloped Circle die from Craftin Desert Divas. I took the inner piece of the die cut and blended Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide ink all over, I also blended the smallest amount of Carved Pumpkin Distress Oxide ink over the edges for a little more dimension.
3.jpg4.jpg
I took my white panel and splattered it with Carved Pumpkin Distress Oxide ink and black watercolour paint. Once that was dry I prepped my panel with my EK Success Powder Tool Applicator. I stamped my sentiment using Versafine Onyx Black ink, coated it in clear embossing powder and set it with my heat tool.
5.jpg6
I adhered my diagonal strip with the bats and my black ribbon to my panel using double sided score tape. I took a long piece of black and white twine and cut it in to two pieces, adhering one end of each to the back of my panel (the shorter side to the right), I brought them both together over the front of my diagonal strip and tied them in a little bow. To finish my panel I popped the circle and cat up on some foam tape to add dimension to my card! I framed my panel using some black paper and adhered it to my card base.

Thanks for reading lovelies! I really love how this card turned out, it’s possibly my favourite Halloween card I’ve made so far this year! (I have a few more posts coming soon!) The images in this stamp set are some of my favourite Halloween stamps I own, and I’m for sure getting a lot of use out of them this year!

Hey there Pumpkin! Cute Halloween Card using Newton’s Nook “Boo-tiful Night” set!

Hey lovelies!
Halloween is fast approaching and it’s my absolute favourite! I’ve already been stamping out everything Halloween in my stash ready to colour for more cards! I had to break open this Newton’s Nook Boo-tiful Night set first though, the adorable cats and pumpkins were calling to me!
40487965_729713747368455_4835227697405755392_n.jpg40421306_516119335503500_4227047250116739072_n.jpg
When I get a new stamp set I like to stamp all of the images out using Memento Tuxedo Black ink to colour up ready for when I need them. I’m planning to make and send out a lot of Halloween cards this year so I know every one of these adorable images will go to use! I used my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers to colour these cute kitties, a pink coloured pencil to add their rosy cheeks and my white gelly roll pen to add highlights. I fussy cut them all out before moving on to my background.
40513323_309805693117735_5816478495903055872_n.jpg
I used the Newton’s Nook “Flying Bats” stencil and Carved Pumpkin Distress Oxide ink to blend the bats on to some white card stock, after removing the stencil I blended the ink darker over the edges of my panel and gently blended it in to the middle for the lighter area. I splattered some black watercolour paint on my panel and allowed it to dry, I just love how black and orange look together so I couldn’t resist!
40519023_332012790907778_3260364555485708288_n
I cut my grass using Craftin Desert Divas’ “Outdoor Landscape” dies, I blended some Mowed Lawn Distress ink along with some Fossilized Amber near the top to give the effect that the top of the grass is glowing from the orange light. I prepped the grass with my powder tool applicator, stamped my sentiment using Versamark ink, coated it in Altenew “Pure White” embossing powder and set with my heat tool. I adhered my grass panel to my background and popped the adorable little cat and pumpkins up with some foam tape. I created a card base from heavyweight white card stock, cut down some black paper to frame my panel and adhered everything to the card base. I finished up by adding some Ebony Black Nuvo drops to draw attention to my sentiment then set my card to dry in a safe place for 24 hours.

Simple Elegant Cards Using Spellbinders Shapeabilities Dies From The “Flower Garden” Collection!

Hey lovelies! ❤ I’m back with a couple more cards using the Spellbinders Shapeabilities dies, this time from the Flower Garden collection by Sharyn Sowell! I tried to keep these cards similar while changing things up just a little, I’ve been on a white and gold kick lately and these dies fit that style perfectly!

~Tools and products used will be listed at the end of this blog post!~

“Botanical Butterfly”

34306531_2123866050974553_2293815382797975552_n.jpg

34416393_2123866110974547_787100216380620800_n

I created my A2 card base and cut my panel slightly smaller from white heavyweight card stock. I prepped my panel with my EK Success powder tool so my embossing powder would only stick to where I wanted it to. I took a thin embossing folder I got from a magazine a little while ago and coated the inside with Tsukineko Versamark ink (on the side with no ridges! This is so the embossed part would remain mostly white with only a little bit of gold looking slightly distressed on it!). I placed it towards the bottom of my panel and ran it through my die cutting machine before coating it in Papermania gold embossing powder and setting it with my heat tool. Once the embossing had cooled I took some gold peel offs from Love From Lizi and adhered them at the top and bottom of the gold embossed strip to neaten up the edges and give it an extra little shine. I then covered the embossed strip and the bottom of the panel in post it tape to protect it while I splattered some gold and white gold watercolour paint at the top of the panel.

Once the splatter was dry I removed the post it tape and prepped the white space at the bottom of the card with my powder tool once again. I stamped my sentiment in Tsukineko Versafine onyx black ink in the bottom right corner of my panel, covered it in Papermania clear embossing powder and set with my heat tool.

I grabbed some pretty floral pearlescent patterned paper from my stash and used the Botanical  Butterfly etched dies to cut out the body and wings using my die cutting machine (I ran the wings through twice so I could double them up as I knew I wanted some dimension here). Once all my pieces were ready, I took some strong double sided score tape and adhered the bottom wing, body and antenna with it over the left side of the embossed strip. I put some of the same double sided score tape on the top wing (where the wing joins to the butterfly) and used some mini foam squares to pop up the end of the wing to give some dimension. To finish I backed the entire panel in double sided foam tape and adhered to my card base.

“Botanical Dragonfly”

34342585_2123865870974571_6366252026531151872_n.jpg

34189155_2123865964307895_9041766298295468032_n.jpg

Once again I went with an A2 card base with a slightly smaller panel from heavyweight white card stock. This time I protected a strip of my panel along the bottom first and splattered again with gold and white gold metallic watercolour paint. I removed the post it tape once the splatter was dry and went with the gold peel offs on their own, choosing two different widths to work with this time. I placed a two of the medium sizes and placed a thinner one in the middle, to give that same sense of separation I have on the first card.

I used the same floral paper as I did with the butterfly, to cut out the botanical dragonfly using my die cutting machine. Again, I ran the wings through twice only this time I turned my paper over so I could create the wings for both sides of the dragonfly. I adhered the two lower wings to my panel using my double sided tape as I wanted them to be flat, for the two top wings I adhered the part that would be behind the dragonfly’s body with score tape and popped up the ends with mini foam squares. I adhered the dragonfly’s body down the middle of my wings, using score tape directly on top of the wings and a mini foam square to support the back of the dragonfly’s head.

I took some black card stock and prepped it with my heat tool, I stamped my sentiment from Altenew’s Carousel stamp set in Tsukineko Versamark ink, coated it in Altenew pure white embossing powder and set it with my heat tool. I cut the sentiment in to a thin strip using my paper trimmer and adhered it across my dragonfly using the double sided score tape. I then backed the entire panel in double sided foam tape and adhered to my card base to finish up!

Thanks for reading lovelies! I had a lot of fun playing with these dies, I want to say a special thanks to Spellbinders for reaching out to me once again and giving me this wonderful opportunity! The dies themselves are absolutely beautiful and great for making beautiful cards year round, no matter the occasion! The detail in these dies specifically had me in awe! Which of the two dies is your favourite?

Friendship Card Using Simon Says Stamp “Coffee and Tea”!

Hello lovelies! ❤ Popping on with another card I made a little while back with the Simon Says Stamp Coffee and Tea set! I think it’s safe to say this set is well loved! This is the last of the old card posts, I promise! I just wanted to share a few of my favs here with you all, as some are already posted on my instagram! (@brodiecreations)

~Tools and products used will be listed at the end of this blog post!~

31224127_2079625145398644_2445523914139369472_n

This was a relatively quick and easy card to make as I had already stamped and painted my images with watercolours in advance (just HAD to start playing with them as soon as the set arrived in the post!). I started by making my card base (13cmx13cm) and adhering some matte black paper as a base for my panel. I cut my panel down to size (12cmx12cm) and splattered it with gold watercolour paint from the Gansai Tambi “Starry Colors” set as well as the Ranger/Tim Holtz Vintage Photo distress ink to give it that coffee feel. Once the panel was dry I adhered a strip across the centre of the panel using my regular tape runner to break it up a little.

Next I began working on the green circular panel which I had die cut using my Big Shot machine, where I planned to heat emboss my sentiment and where my images would be placed. I ink blended a combination of mowed lawn and cracked pistachio distress inks (mowed lawn towards the outside of the circle blending inwards to cracked pistachio), and lightly blended some vintage photo around the edges to give a slightly grungy look to it. I then dusted over the whole circle using my EK Success powder tool, placed the circle in my Tonic Studios/Tim Holtz stamping platform and stamped my sentiment with Tsukineko Versamark ink. I heat embossed the sentiment using Altenew pure white embossing powder to give a contrast to the green in the background. Finally I adhered my images using my Ranger multi medium matte adhesive, once the glue was dry I backed the circle panel with foam tape and placed it in the centre of my card to finish.

Thanks for reading lovelies! ❤ This was a pretty quick card to make but one I thoroughly enjoyed making. Making anything coffee related seems to be one of my happiest places lately, but that’s no surprise considering my caffeine intake!
