Cute Firework Scene Using Lawn Fawn and MFT Stamps!

Hey lovelies!
With Guy Fawkes night just around the corner I created this “just because” card using the gorgeous new “Winter Skies” set from Lawn Fawn alongside MFT’s “Fireworks” set! We don’t usually send cards for Guy Fawkes night here, but for me if there’s a celebration that’s reason enough for me to make a card to send to my loved ones!
1.jpg
I cut a panel using the “Basic Rectangles” Creative Cuts from Mama Elephant, stamped my fireworks using Versamark ink, coated them in white embossing powder and set with my heat tool. I blended Abandoned Coral, Mermaid Lagoon and Seedless Preserves Distress Ink in small areas all over my panel before blending Black Soot Distress Ink all over keeping it darker towards the edges. I sprayed my panel with my Distress Sprayer and cleaned up the excess water. I splattered the entire panel using white watercolour paint and some metallic gold watercolour paint to give a slight shimmer.
2.jpg3.jpg
I stamped my images from Lawn Fawn’s “Winter Skies” set using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured them using my alcohol markers. I fussy cut them out and added some highlights with a white gel pen. To ground my images I cut a panel the same size as my background from black card stock, and cut a simple hill shape using my scissors before adhering everything in to place.
45.jpg
I cut a larger panel from white card stock using the “Basic Rectangles” Creative Cuts to frame my smaller panel and stamped it with fireworks using Iced Spruce Distress Oxide Ink. I used my powder tool on the black hill piece of my card, stamped my sentiment from Neat and Tangled’s “Beavers Eh” stamp set, heat embossed it with white embossing powder and adhered everything to my card base!

Thanks for reading lovelies! I definitely love how well these two sets work together! I feel like this would be a great idea for New Year cards too!

Simple Halloween Card Using Simon Says Stamp “If The Hat Fits”!

Hey lovelies!
Back to the Halloween cards today! Now I know not a lot of people have hours and hours to spend making their cards for every occasion, so today I thought I’d share a really simple way of making cute cards fast! The “If The Hat Fits” set from Simon Says Stamp is a really amazing set to achieve simple but fun cards, the hat images are a great size for a focal point and the larger sentiments compliment them perfectly!
1.jpg
I had previously stamped out this set using Memento Tuxedo Black ink as I knew I wanted to use it for this year’s Halloween cards. I did some quick colouring using my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and added details/highlights with my white gelly roll pen.
Spectrum Noir markers used:
Hat: LG5, LG3, LG2
Ribbon: CR7, OR2, FS9
2.jpg
I fussy cut out my image, I used my craft knife to cut the little piece between the bend of the hat and the ribbon. I cut down a panel for my card and blended in a circular motion towards the bottom left using Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide ink (I just love how greens and yellows compliment each other!), sprayed it with my distress sprayer before cleaning up any excess water with a paper towel. I splattered my panel with black watercolour paint and Twisted Citron Distress Oxide ink using a paintbrush and some water then allowed it to completely dry. Once it was dry I prepped my panel with my EK Success powder tool, I stamped my sentiment at a slight angle using Versafine Onyx Black ink, coated it in clear embossing powder and set with my heat tool. I stamped a couple of the stars from the set with Versafine ink to draw attention to my sentiment. I adhered the hat to my panel using double sided foam tape to add some dimension. Finally I framed my panel using black card stock and adhered to my card base using double sided score tape!

Hooray! All Yeti Another Year Older? Birthday Shaker Using Craftin Desert Divas Products!

Hey lovelies!
It was my best friend in the world Kit’s birthday last month (you should go check out her blog if you’re a Disney or cosplay lover), so of course I had to whip up a shaker especially for her! We don’t live close to each other, which means we don’t get to see each other nearly enough. For most of us in the crafting community sending our handmade cards/gifts is our way of showing love to those we’re closest to!
We’re more like sisters than friends, and our sense of humour definitely reflects that. So I just had to use these cute images with the cheekiness of the “all yeti another year older?” sentiment as a little reminder to her that we’re growing older together!
1
I stamped these cute yetis from Craftin Desert Divas “Yeti To Party” set using Memento Tuxedo Black ink, coloured them using my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and fussy cut them out. I added some rosy cheeks with a pink pencil and details with my white gelly roll pen.
Spectrum Noir markers used:
Yeti: IB1 (face and legs) BG3 & GG1 (horns) GT1 (nails) GG1 (shading on fur)
Presents: CR2, FS8, GB1, LY1, LG1 & LG2
2.jpg3.jpg
I cut a panel from heavy weight white card stock using the Crazy Stitched Frame dies, and cut a window out using the Inside Scalloped Circle dies both from Craftin Desert Divas. I removed the scalloped frame part of the window as I just wanted a simple circle this time. I cut another panel of white card and blended it with Shaded Lilac Distress Oxide ink for the background of my window before spraying it with my distress sprayer and drying up the excess water with a paper towel.
4
I took a piece of scrap card stock I had leftover from a previous project big enough for the sentiment die. I blended Broken China and Shaded Lilac Distress Oxide inks to create an ombre effect, I distressed it using my distress sprayer and mopped up the excess water. I took the “Hooray” sentiment die from the Torn Paper dies by Craftin Desert Divas and ran it through my die cutting machine.
5.jpg
I adhered my die cut sentiment using Ranger Multi Medium Matte adhesive and set a stamping block on top until it was completely dry. I stamped “All YETI another year older?” below my die cut sentiment using Versafine Onyx Black ink. After backing my window with acetate I adhered my yetis to the acetate (slotted just under the bottom of my window) using some double sided score tape and got ready to create my shaker panel.
6.jpg
I used double sided foam tape to surround the back of my window and backed the rest of my panel with it too. I used my EK Success powder tool around the edges of the foam tape on the inside section of my circle, I feel this helps the sequins move around easier! I used Pastel Paradise and True Love sequins from Craftin Desert Divas to fill my shaker, removed the backing from my foam tape and adhered my ink blended background panel to seal it all in. I backed my panel with double sided score tape and adhered to my card base!

Simple Halloween Card Using Lawn Fawn “Trick or Treat” set!

Hey lovelies!
I’ve been digging through my craft supplies and pulling out everything fall/Halloween related! If you know me, you know I love a good small stamp that I can make quick and easy backgrounds with! These candy corn from Lawn Fawn are no exception to that – look at their cute little faces! I couldn’t resist making a simple card using them!
1
I trimmed down a panel from white card stock and stamped my candy corn in a random pattern all over using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I usually do these backgrounds with watercolour but I love how vivid my Spectrum Noir pens make the candy corn in this case!
23.jpg
When colouring I usually work from darkest to lightest:
Orange section: CR7 -> OR3 -> OR2
Yellow section: GB4 -> GB3 -> LY1
4.jpg
I added shadows using my GG1 Spectrum Noir marker, and highlights with my white gelly roll pen. I love adding these little details as I feel like it makes them stand out more!
5.jpg
I used the smallest of my Inside Scalloped Circle dies and cut it from white card stock, removing the middle piece that I would be using for my sentiment. I blended Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide ink on to my sentiment piece, before blending some Carved Pumpkin Distress Oxide ink around the edges for some dimension. I dried the ink with my heat tool and prepped with my EK Success powder tool applicator. I stamped my sentiment from Newton’s Nook’s “Boo-tiful Night” set using Versafine Onyx Black ink, coated it in clear embossing powder and set it with my heat tool. I picked out some orange ribbon and backed it with double sided score tape, I adhered that directly to my panel and popped my sentiment up with some foam tape. I backed my panel with double sided score tape and adhered to my card base!

Hey there Pumpkin! Cute Halloween Card using Newton’s Nook “Boo-tiful Night” set!

Hey lovelies!
Halloween is fast approaching and it’s my absolute favourite! I’ve already been stamping out everything Halloween in my stash ready to colour for more cards! I had to break open this Newton’s Nook Boo-tiful Night set first though, the adorable cats and pumpkins were calling to me!
40487965_729713747368455_4835227697405755392_n.jpg40421306_516119335503500_4227047250116739072_n.jpg
When I get a new stamp set I like to stamp all of the images out using Memento Tuxedo Black ink to colour up ready for when I need them. I’m planning to make and send out a lot of Halloween cards this year so I know every one of these adorable images will go to use! I used my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers to colour these cute kitties, a pink coloured pencil to add their rosy cheeks and my white gelly roll pen to add highlights. I fussy cut them all out before moving on to my background.
40513323_309805693117735_5816478495903055872_n.jpg
I used the Newton’s Nook “Flying Bats” stencil and Carved Pumpkin Distress Oxide ink to blend the bats on to some white card stock, after removing the stencil I blended the ink darker over the edges of my panel and gently blended it in to the middle for the lighter area. I splattered some black watercolour paint on my panel and allowed it to dry, I just love how black and orange look together so I couldn’t resist!
40519023_332012790907778_3260364555485708288_n
I cut my grass using Craftin Desert Divas’ “Outdoor Landscape” dies, I blended some Mowed Lawn Distress ink along with some Fossilized Amber near the top to give the effect that the top of the grass is glowing from the orange light. I prepped the grass with my powder tool applicator, stamped my sentiment using Versamark ink, coated it in Altenew “Pure White” embossing powder and set with my heat tool. I adhered my grass panel to my background and popped the adorable little cat and pumpkins up with some foam tape. I created a card base from heavyweight white card stock, cut down some black paper to frame my panel and adhered everything to the card base. I finished up by adding some Ebony Black Nuvo drops to draw attention to my sentiment then set my card to dry in a safe place for 24 hours.

In Omnia Paratus Card Using Ink Road Stamps “Stars Hollow”!

Hey lovelies! ❤

Today I want to share with you the second card I’ve made with this gorgeous stamp set from Ink Road Stamps! Anybody who watches Gilmore Girls will know of the Life and Death Brigade and the latin term ‘In Omnia Paratus’ which means ‘ready for anything’! Some of my favourite moments in the show happened with Rory and the Life and Death Brigade, although I’m still team Jess! With that being said, I couldn’t NOT make this card!

~Tools and products used will be listed at the end of this blog post!~

33377003_2113442525350239_8902136490595713024_n.jpg

I made my tall card base and cut a panel slightly smaller from white card stock, I wanted it to represent the jump made by Rory and Logan with the rest of the group so I felt it was most appropriate! I cut a cloud shape stencil from white card stock again, and began inking my panel from the top with my Ranger/Tim Holtz Salty Ocean Distress Ink. I kept blending the colour all the way down to the bottom of my panel, once finished I distressed it with my Distress Spray bottle.

For the little umbrellas I stamped them with Tsukineko Memento tuxedo black ink on white card stock, then coloured them in rainbow colours using my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. I took a small circle die and cut them out using my Big Shot machine.

For my sentiments I treated some black card stock with my EK Success powder tool, so the embossing powder wouldn’t stick to anywhere else apart from where I stamped. I stamped both sentiments in Tsukineko Versamark ink, covered them in Altenew pure white embossing powder and set them with my heat tool before cutting them in to thin strips using my paper trimmer. I used my scissors to create a little fish tail banner for the “you jump, I jump” sentiment.

For assembly I began by cutting down some black matte paper to create a border around my panel on the card, adhering it to my card base with my regular tape runner. I then wrapped some blue and white twine around the left side of my panel, adhering it to the back with some washi tape. I backed the umbrella circles and sentiments with double sided foam tape, adhered the umbrellas over the twine and put the sentiments in place where I had planned. I finished by backing the entire panel in foam tape and adhering to my card base.

Sarcastic Coffee Card Using Ink Road Stamps “Stars Hollow”

Hey lovelies! ❤

By now I probably don’t need to explain my love for coffee, or Gilmore Girls for that matter! I made this card yesterday after learning about the Coffee Lover’s blog hop that started on Friday! So of course, being a Lorelai Gilmore on the coffee addiction scale I just HAD to use the Stars Hollow Set from Ink Road Stamps again!

~Tools and products used will be listed at the end of this blog post!~

33540697_2115506188477206_3129293552454991872_n.jpg

I began by treating a piece of white card stock with my EK success powder tool as I knew I was going to emboss my images for this card. I stamped the to go coffee cups in a random fashion in Tsukineko Versafine onyx black ink, coated in clear embossing powder and set them with my heat tool. I used a circle die to cut out the area I wanted with my Sizzix Big Shot machine. I’d never tried watercolouring on my white card stock before, but I didn’t want the texture which my watercolour paper has for this piece. I found that as long as I don’t use too much water, it holds up just fine! I took my Salty Ocean distress ink, spread some on my glass craft mat and sprayed with some water, picking up the colour with a paintbrush I painted the areas around the coffee cups with the ink. I moved on to using some brown, orange and green watercolour paints for the coffee cups themselves and set the circle aside to dry.

I created my card base and cut some matte black paper slightly smaller then adhered it with my regular tape runner. I created a panel with some foiled card stock from DCWV. I prepped some black card stock with my powder tool and chose my sentiments, I chose “coffee please, people are particularly stupid today, I cannot talk to any more of them”, I love a good sassy sentiment! This is an iconic Michelle moment in Gilmore Girls and I can’t read that phrase without reading it in his voice! I stamped my sentiments in Tsukineko Versamark ink and heat embossed it in Altenew Pure White embossing powder, cutting them in to thin strips.

By this time the circle panel was dry, so I took a die from the Avery Elle tag dies and partially die cut it on either side of the circle. I backed the circle with double sided foam tape as I wanted it to add a little extra dimension to the card. I used some blue and white twine and threaded it through the holes on either side of the circle. Adhering the circle to the foiled card stock panel, I wrapped the twine behind the foiled panel and adhered it to the back with some washi tape. I glued my sentiments flat to the card using my regular tape runner, backed the entire panel in foam tape and adhered to my card base.

I Miss You Friendship Card Using Distress Inks!

Hello lovelies! ❤

Sharing another quick and easy card with you today, perfect to send to those you may not see every day!

~Tools and products used will be listed at the end of this blog post!~

32947045_2108496255844866_727634259568754688_n

I cut a panel from white card stock and picked which distress ink colours I wanted to work with (colours used & links will be listed at the end of this post!). The sun was shining so it only seemed right to go for some red, yellow and pink for that summery feel! I placed the inks directly on to my glass craft mat and sprayed with some water, then smooshed my panel on the surface to pick up the colour remembering to dry between each layer for a textured feel. When I was happy with how  it looked I splattered it with some gold metallic watercolour paint from my Gansai Tambi “Starry Colors” palette and set aside to dry.

I created my card base and top panel using white card stock and rounded the corners with a corner punch. I then cut some black matte paper larger than my top panel and rounded the corners for a cohesive look and adhered to my card base. To finish my top panel I die cut the stitched heart window with Lawn Fawn’s Outside In Stitched Heart stackable dies.

For my sentiment I decided to go with the “I Miss You” stamp from Simon Says Stamp “Seeing Stars”. I treated some black card stock with my EK Success powder tool, stamped my sentiment in Versamark ink and heat embossed it with Altenew Pure White embossing powder. I cut it down in to a thin sentiment strip and adhered it across the back of my stitched heart using my regular tape runner.

To finish the card I backed the stitched heart panel with foam tape and adhered it to the ink smooshed panel, then adhered it to my card base using my regular tape runner.

Donut You Know Friendship Card Using Some Odd Girl “Sweet & Salty”!

Hello lovelies! ❤

Hands up if you have a sweet tooth?! I tend to side with the saltier things in life but donuts are one exception to that rule! I was gifted this cute stamp set by my friend Anna a little while ago, knowing if it’s cute and food related I’m in LOVE!

~Tools and products used will be listed at the end of this blog post!~

32941456_2108447172516441_7529101214898716672_n

I knew I wanted to work with the donut stamp from this set as I had a sentiment from Lawn Fawn’s “Sweet Friends” set that would go great with it! I began by creating my card base and adhering some black matte paper on top, then cut my panel slightly smaller from watercolour paper. I treated the watercolour paper with my EK Success powder tool as I was planning to heat emboss my images. I used Versafine Onyx Black ink to stamp my donuts all over my panel, coated them in clear embossing powder from papermania then set them with my heat tool.

I moved on to colouring my images, I knew I wanted the frosting on the donuts to be pretty bright so I decided to watercolour it with distress inks. I decided on a blue and pink ink and used the alternate colour of sprinkles for each donut. I used my watercolour paint for the actual donut underneath as I didn’t have a distress ink that would fit the colour.

For my sentiment I treated some black card stock with my powder tool, used my Versamark ink to stamp my sentiment and heat embossed it in Altenew pure white embossing powder. I then cut them in to thin sentiment strips and cut the edges at an angle. I adhered them to my panel using my regular tape runner. To finish the card I backed the donut panel with foam tape and adhered to my card base.

Cute Alien Card Using Lawn Fawn “Beam Me Up!”

Hello lovelies! ❤

Today I’m sharing this space themed card using Lawn Fawn’s Beam Me Up stamp set. I have a soft spot for anything to do with space, and who could resist these adorable little aliens?! I used some stamps Lawn Fawn’s Out Of This World set too, specifically the planets! 🙂

~Tools and products used will be listed at the end of this blog post!~

32080321_2095411943819964_725680143938355200_n.jpg

I started by stamping out my images and colouring them with my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers (although for the glass in the space ship I did use a light blue coloured pencil as I don’t currently have a colourless blender!). I wanted them to be in bright, fun colours as I felt this card would be perfect for a kid’s birthday! For the alien in the space ship I stamped the ship first, creating a mask using a post-it note and stamped the alien over top to give the illusion he’s sitting in the ship! Once I had my images all coloured I added some details and highlights with my white gel pen before fussy cutting them out by hand. For the beam coming out of the space ship I knew I wanted it to be transparent, so the cake would be visible while the alien is sneaking it on to their ship! Sneaky! I achieved this by heat embossing on some heat resistant acetate with my Altenew pure white embossing powder then fussy cut around the embossed lines. I adhered the beam directly on to the back of the space ship so it would be popped up on the same level as the ship when I finished the card.

I created my card base and cut a panel slightly smaller from white card stock. I adhered some black matte paper to my card base for the black border. I wanted the card to be on the fun and colourful side but still with that galaxy sky feel, I knew I was going to adhere a circle panel to the bottom of the card for the sentiment (and for those sneaky aliens to be standing on!). I left a lighter blue aura around where the “moon” would be and blended purple/pink and blue together for the top to make it darker. I sprayed the background with my Ranger/Tim Holtz distress sprayer, then splattered the background with white paint and metallic watercolour paint from my Gansai Tambi “Starry Colors” palette for a little shimmer.

I die cut a circle panel from white card stock and adhered it to the panel, cutting off any excess from the sides. I prepped it with my EK Success powder tool so embossing powder would only stick to where I stamped my sentiment. I stamped my sentiment using versafine onyx black ink and coated it with Papermania clear embossing powder before setting it with my heat tool until it was smooth and shiny. I adhered all my images where I wanted them using my usual tape runner apart from the space ship with the acetate attached, and the earth which I popped up using foam tape. To finish I backed the entire panel in foam tape and adhered to my card base.

Thanks for reading lovelies! ❤ I loved getting back in to colouring with my alcohol markers with this card, it feels like I’ve been mainly focused on watercolour lately while trying to get used to the medium and then falling madly in love with it. For all you crafty geniuses, which medium is your absolute favourite to use? I want to keep trying new things as I move forward! ❤
