Witch Way To The Candy? Cute Halloween Card Using Newton’s Nook “Boo-tiful Night” Set! (Inky Paws Challenge #80)

Hey lovelies!
Today I’m sharing this cute Halloween card I made for Newton’s Nook “Inky Paws” challenge! You can check out more about the challenge here! For this challenge you have to follow a card sketch, which is something I’ve never done before! Of course I had to make the theme of my card Halloween – we all know I’m on a Halloween kick lately and I doubt I’ll stop making Halloween cards until November at this rate!

To start I stamped this cute little witch cat using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured him in using my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. I added rosy cheeks with a pink coloured pencil and highlights with my white gelly roll pen.
Spectrum Noir colours used:
Cat: (Fur) IG5, GG2, GG1 (Nose) CR2 (Ears) CR2, FS8
Broom: TN5, TN3, GB6, GB1, CR7, OR3, OR2
Hat: BG5, BG3, CR7, OR3, OR2

Once I had fussy cut out my image, I cut down a panel from heavy white card stock. I made a smaller panel the same width and cut across it diagonally, I blended Carved Pumpkin Distress Oxide ink on to my diagonal strip, sprayed it with my distress sprayer and dried any excess water with a paper towel. I dried the ink with my heat tool before stamping the small bat from the stamp set in a pattern using Versafine Onyx Black ink. I took another piece of white card stock and ran it through my die cutting machine with the medium Inside Scalloped Circle die from Craftin Desert Divas. I took the inner piece of the die cut and blended Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide ink all over, I also blended the smallest amount of Carved Pumpkin Distress Oxide ink over the edges for a little more dimension.

I took my white panel and splattered it with Carved Pumpkin Distress Oxide ink and black watercolour paint. Once that was dry I prepped my panel with my EK Success Powder Tool Applicator. I stamped my sentiment using Versafine Onyx Black ink, coated it in clear embossing powder and set it with my heat tool.

I adhered my diagonal strip with the bats and my black ribbon to my panel using double sided score tape. I took a long piece of black and white twine and cut it in to two pieces, adhering one end of each to the back of my panel (the shorter side to the right), I brought them both together over the front of my diagonal strip and tied them in a little bow. To finish my panel I popped the circle and cat up on some foam tape to add dimension to my card! I framed my panel using some black paper and adhered it to my card base.

Thanks for reading lovelies! I really love how this card turned out, it’s possibly my favourite Halloween card I’ve made so far this year! (I have a few more posts coming soon!) The images in this stamp set are some of my favourite Halloween stamps I own, and I’m for sure getting a lot of use out of them this year!

Cute ‘You’re the pick of the patch’ Halloween Card Using Newton’s Nook “Boo-tiful Night” set!

Hey lovelies!
I’m well in the spooky spirit and back with another Halloween card using Newton’s Nook “Boo-tiful Night” set! These kitties are just too cute I can’t get enough of them! Halloween stamps are my weakness, especially when they have pumpkins!

I coloured these images using my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers, added rosy cheeks on the grey cats using a pink coloured pencil and finished up by adding some highlights using my white gelly roll pen. I fussy cut the images out by hand and moved on to my panel.

I cut some black card stock down to size using my guillotine trimmer. I used the Flying Bats stencil from Newton’s Nook to blend Carved Pumpkin Distress Oxide ink on to my panel, when I removed the stencil I sprinkled some clear embossing powder over the bats and set with my heat tool to give it a textured look and feel. I cut my window from my panel using Craftin Desert Divas Inside Scalloped Circle dies and removed the scalloped part so I was left with the stitched circle.

I cut my grass using the Outdoor Landscape dies from Craftin Desert Divas and ink blended it with Mowed Lawn Distress Ink, and I used the Hill Scene 2 Stencil to blend some Twisted Citron Distress Oxide ink on to my background panel to create my clouds. I distressed the background panel with my Distress sprayer, splattered it with more Twisted Citron ink using a paintbrush and dried it before prepping it with my powder tool applicator. I stamped my sentiment and the bat using Versafine Onyx Black ink, coated it in clear embossing powder and set it with my heat tool. I adhered everything in to place and finished my panel using some orange ribbon, as well as some black and white twine. I blended some Carved Pumpkin Distress Oxide ink over the edges of some white card stock slightly larger than my panel to frame my panel and adhered everything to my card base using score tape and double sided foam tape.
